Singular Thoughts- an introduction
Welcome to my Blog, I admit, this is new to me, so I hope that you can forgive any non-bloggy mistakes that I will surely make! This blog is about the voice. Your voice, my voice, others’ voices. How they ‘work’, how we can take care of them, how to optimize them, and the many ways we can go about finding and using our own singular voices in the world. We will discuss beautiful singing, impactful speaking, strategies and tips for effective practice, and managing the inevitable anxiety that arises in both public speaking and performance settings. For voice teachers, we will discuss pedagogical implementation, new research, and ways to make teaching voice more joyful and interesting for both you and your students. My hope is that you can find information on any voice-related question here. Let me start by introducing myself. I’m Hannah Schramm Murray, and I have been a voice teacher and professional singer for over 25 years. I have degrees in Voice Performance and Vocal Pedagogy, and have spent many years teaching future teachers and professional performers at the university level and beyond. My full Bio can be found here: yoursingularvoice.comThis blog will often tie into the themes posted on Instagram and Facebook in “Sing-ular Thoughts”, so when you get a moment, you can check those out for the CliffsNotes version of these posts, or conversely, if you see something there that you’d like more information on, you can, in all likelihood, find it here.
